Focusing on the mandatory conformance for European and North American certification, the role is responsible for ensuring Sepura products are certified for sale in these areas.
As a Product Conformance Engineer, you will support the development of Sepura's industry leading radio equipment. You will be responsible for identifying and interpreting regulatory requirements for the European and North American sale of Sepura products. You will devise testing regimes and develop plans to test products ensuring that both mandatory conformance and product requirements are tested effectively and efficiently. Working with Project Management and Technical Leads you will prioritise testing ideas. Using a combination of internal testing and third parties you will ensure that all tests are carried out in line with project timescales, helping in the resolution of issues as and when they arise.

Qualifications:
- HND/Degree qualified in a relevant discipline such as Electronic Engineering
Essential
- Experience in product approvals and conformance certification.
- Assisting with the planning and estimation for all approvals and conformance tasks
- Keeping up to date with all relevant type approval specifications including those for RF, EMC, SAR, Safety and Environmental
- Maintaining accurate records of all the testing and processes building a test history library
- Analysing, understanding, and interpreting new approval standards and regulations.
- Liaising with external test houses planning test sessions and supporting testing with technical questions
- Creation of Declaration of Conformities.
- Carrying out conformance testing to the relevant standards both onsite and at external test houses
- The analysis on Conformance ATE results, evaluating issues and raising them with the relevant development teams
- The approval and testing of radio products
- The support for in-country representatives on approval related activities
- ATEX product approval
- The use of Oracle's Agile for Product Lifecycle Management or similar
- The use of Jira for action and defect tracking
Essential
Skilled in the interpretation, understanding, and use of:
- Obtaining external certification, either directly or via external test houses for FCC, IC and EU
- The Radio equipment directive, EMCD and LVD.
- The CE marking requirements.
- The legal requirements in regard to Company D.o.C.
- IP and Environmental certifications
- WEEE, RoHS and REACH Directives and regulations.
- Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel
Ideally conformance related skills in the approvals for areas such as those below:
- PMR - Private Mobile Radio
- TETRA
- LTE, GSM, CDMA (4G,3G,2G),
- GNSS, Ethernet, Bluetooth and WiFi
- MIL-STD-810
- RF test measurements and systems including the use of Network Analysers, Spectrum Analysers, Power Meters, Signal Generators, Oscilloscopes etc.
- Understanding of non-EU country approval requirements
- Excellent communication skills e.g. clear, concise and unambiguous
- Dedicated to doing the right thing and willing to push for the correct approach
- Gets on well with others in a small, focused team working to tight deadlines and costs
- Conscientious, reliable and enthusiastic worker who takes pride in their work
- Develops good working relationships with external test/certification agencies to ensure the company's best interests are met
- Methodical, detail orientated self-starter
- Ability to follow defined processes.
- Able to be in office at least 3 days a week.
