Main Duties And Responsibilities

As a Procurement Assistant, your main responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Assist with the identification and evaluation of low-risk suppliers to ensure the business is achieving best value.
  • Raise and process purchase orders in line with department procedures and company policies.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels of consumable parts by tracking inventory usage and coordinating with relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaise with suppliers to confirm order details, delivery times and resolve any discrepancies or delays.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and supplier information.
  • Generate supplier scorecards monthly.
  • Manage purchase requisitions from the Engineering and Technical teams.
  • Generate stock shelf-life reports monthly.
  • Keep files and records up-to-date and archive as required.

Other Duties

  • The Purchasing Assistant role will be required to support the provision of company workwear for employees, as well as managing a small inventory of items related to this duty.
  • A degree of flexibility is needed and the job holder may be required to perform work not specifically referred to above and which will be appropriate to the level of the role.
