The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Process Safety Engineer on contract basis to support the demonstration of legislative compliance on Concept, FEED and Detailed Design projects within px Engineering. The ideal candidate will be up to date with applicable British and International standards and best practices for process safety engineering. They will be able to interface with other disciplines within a project environment and be responsible for the development of process safety projects.


Key Responsibilities

  • Approving 3rd party scope of work where it pertains to process safety.
  • Undertaking Situational Risk Assessments relevant to process safety
  • Ensuring the COMAH report Predictive section and Process Safety areas are suitable and sufficient and in compliance with the SRAM.
  • Approving management of change relevant to process safety.
  • Undertaking (or approving 3rd party) Process Safety Hazard and Risk Assessment Studies (HAZOP/HAZID/LOPA/FTA/QRA/OBRA/Consequence Modelling).
  • Leading the site Process Safety Working Group.
  • Training and upskilling of site staff in relation to process safety.
  • Undertaking / contributing to process safety relevant areas of functional safety (eg SRS)
  • Checking / Approval of process safety critical documents eg relief, blowdown, safety critical calculations.
