The role:
Our Process Controller plays a crucial role in maintaining water quality and environmental compliance standards across multiple water production assets in a designated geographic area. Responsibilities include adhering to company, statutory, and regulatory health, safety, and security protocols. The position may involve independent work, confined space tasks, and contributing insights to enhance asset performance in both operational and maintenance projects. Additionally, availability for standby duties outside regular hours is essential.
What you’ll do:
- Operate and maintain water production assets safely and efficiently as part of a multi-skilled team.
- Manage and optimise water treatment sites within a designated geographical area.
- Perform proactive, planned, and reactive tasks to ensure asset reliability and performance.
- Monitor and analyse operational data, implementing corrective actions and escalating risks when necessary.
- Collaborate with technical and operational teams to resolve issues and improve asset performance.
- Support capital project planning by identifying investment needs and ensuring operational requirements are met.
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations and internal policies, including incident management procedures.
- Train and mentor colleagues, including apprentices, to build team capability.
- Ensure accurate data entry into corporate systems to support performance analysis and decision-making.
- Supervise contractors on-site, ensuring adherence to safety standards and procedures.
What we’re looking for:
- A minimum of 5 GCSE’s grades A-C or equivalent (which must include Maths, English and a Science or Technology subject).
- To complete and ensure that throughout your career that the required skills, competence and recency in the Licence to Operate (LTO) scheme are maintained.
- A valid driving licence
- Good understanding of water treatment processes and knowledge gained through job-related training and on-the-job experience
- Experience of PLC, HMI and SCADA systems
- Knowledge of safe systems of work, company policy, statutory regulations, operations procedures, maintenance procedures, administration procedures.
