Position Summary:
We’re on the lookout for a passionate and pragmatic Process Chemist who is ready to elevate our process development. This role involves working on next-generation processes and products, as well as improving established ones. You'll have diverse growth opportunities, collaborating with a Process Technologist to enhance our understanding of components and processes, boosting AAA unit capacity.
You'll engage in next-gen projects aligned with New Business Development, working fluidly across teams and external partners, including MFT, Technology, PSRC, HSSE, Procurement, Scale-up labs, Manufacturing plants, test labs, universities, and research organizations. Expect to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
Your activities will include lab work (synthesis, analysis, design, and assembly of new lab equipment), coordinating requests for blending and external analysis, improving lab safety, investigating product quality, report writing, and evaluating process changes at manufacturing plants. Occasional travel may be required.

What you’ll achieve:
- High standard of laboratory safety and housekeeping.
- Collaborate to devise and progress experimentation plans and interpret data making recommendations.
- Enthusiasm to learn and use new skills related to Fundamental Understanding initiatives, to champion new laboratory techniques, new physical and digital devices in the lab and lab
- Generate data that will inform process development and understanding of New Product Development and AAA projects leading to scale up, implementation and commercialisation
- Provide technical support in troubleshooting activities, process changes, raw materials and new component approval.
- Facilitate knowledge management in MFT.
- Ability to run scientific programs and design experimental plans.
- Knowledge of synthetic and characterization techniques.
- Familiarity with our commercial products, processes, and associated analytical techniques within the manufacturing network.
- Exposure to various functions across Infineum.
- Understanding of translating new technologies and knowledge from lab to commercial operations.
- Skill in coaching others on Fundamental Understanding toolkits.
- Familiarity with Infineum’s key commercial product quality controls (IQPs) and lab safety processes (OIMS).
- Proficiency in scientific software.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent safety and quality consciousness and behaviour.
- Should have a sound science background with a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
- Very strong technical competencies with an attitude for practical work.
- Good level of organic synthesis and characterization experience; a strong background in analytical chemistry techniques would be an advantage.
- The capability to accurately manage test results and technical information, interpret data, making recommendations and maintain comprehensive lab records.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to develop professional relationships with team colleagues.
