Purpose of the Role
Senior grade experienced freight train driver, who is able to train, coach, mentor and assess trainee and other train drivers within the company in freight driving and other operational skills.

Person Specification
- Be confident and a role model when dealing with all staff with good attention to detail.
- Have good knowledge of the current requirements for Health and Safety and Rail Industry Standards.
- Be a proven team player with a logical searching mind
- Qualified train driver with significant experience in freight train driving and an excellent safety record.
- 301/302 Assessor qualification
- Qualified Instructor
- Excellent Route Knowledge
- Undertake a high level of processional freight train driving with excellent route and traction knowledge.
- Instruct, mentor and assess train driving and railway operational skills.
- Fully competent in train preparation and In Service Train Examination.
- Fault finding and light maintenance on Traction and Rolling Stock.
- Report writing and completion of training logs/assessments.
- Communicate with customers and others in the rail industry, in order that the best interests of the Colas Rail are always met.
- The above does not limit your duties and the company may require you from time to time to undertake work within your capability and competence.
- As you will expect the organization may change from time to time and you will be expected to meet the operational requirements.
- Any other reasonable duties as required from time to time.
- Professional qualification
- Authorizations to operate vehicles linked to the field of activity
