Cobb Europe has many facilities across the Europe, Middle East, & Africa (EMEA) markets. With offices in both Colchester in the United Kingdom and Boxmeer in the Netherlands.


We are looking for a Poultry Farm Manager to manage our farm in Wretton. The farm has a total of 5 people. The new Manager and will work closely with the Area Manager to ensure that to ensure all production objectives are met.


Main responsibilities

  • Day to day management of the Farm
  • Hands on management of the Farm being actively involved in Production (ie around 80% of time spent in Production Sheds)
  • Manage working hours, authorizing and processing of timesheets
  • Team Member Performance Management, including completion of probation periods, annual reviews and disciplinary processes
  • Organise and lead Team meetings
  • Authorise Holiday and ensure planned manpower
  • Onboarding and training of all new starters to the team.
  • Leading the team in Biosecurity, Welfare & H&S
  • Undertaking monthly training topics with team members.
  • Ordering supplies, stock management, Cost management
  • Disinfectants and vaccines
  • Controlling costs for general supplies
  • Ongoing Projects
  • Drive continual improvement through efficiencies and innovation.
  • Development and training of team members (relating to their roles)

Additional Responsibilities and Projects

  • Managing cost control, developing and maintaining agreed budgets
  • Leading in Health and Safety and Quality Control
  • Implementing company policies and procedures


About you

  • You are able to plan activities to ensure delivery of targets through optimum staffing levels, productivity and commitment from the team.
  • You coach and mentor your team so they understand what is required of them at all times
  • You understand the needs of the business and are able to set the priorities to support these.
  • You have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Understanding of the operation and structure of a Livestock breeding company
  • Ability to achieve continuous improvement and development.
  • Two years’ experience in management gained within a comparable environment and at an appropriate level.

Working hours

The hours for this role are 37.5 per week.
