A look into the role

Reporting to the Post Office Commercial Manager, the Post Office Development Manager will work with a team of Post Office Managers, Senior Post Office Managers, Store and Area Managers to improve capability and driver performance within the Henderson Retail Post Office business.

This role will be very well suited to a candidate who is target driven and thrives on coaching and knowledge sharing. Working with our Post Office teams you will make a significant contribution to the overall performance of the Post Office business

Working As Post Office (PO) Development Manager You Will

  • Take responsibility for driving overall performance across all PO KPI’s - income growth, profit, customer experience, audit etc in the largest 12 PO’s.
  • Coach team members to ensure quality customer conversations are being held consistently and appropriate products & services are being offered.
  • Analyse performance data, generate insights and produce action plans to improve KPIs.
  • Support and give guidance to Post Office Managers to ensure all duties are fulfilled whilst maintaining a high-quality service at all times.
  • Support Post Office Managers in the induction, training and ongoing development of Post Office team members.
  • Conduct audits and support with cash loss investigations to minimise risk within the PO business.
  • Support Senior Post Office Managers to enhance performance across cluster KPIs.
  • Coach & mentor Senior Post Office Managers to improve capabilities and develop their coaching skills.
  • Design & deliver training solutions to include: event workshops; robust new start training programme; rolling workshop series for PO store teams etc.
  • Influence and gain buy in from Store Managers and Area Managers to ensure PO capability and performance is a focus in the Store and Area.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement within the Post Office Commercial Operation, making recommendations for enhancing efficiency and maximising income.
  • Support PO Commercial Manager as required.
  • Look for opportunities to enable PO teams to get involved in the Communities in which they trade.

Skills For Success

Joining us as Post Office Development Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is:

  • GCSE English & Maths (or equivalent) at Grade C or above
  • Proven ability to lead a team to deliver across a range of commercial KPI’s.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience of coaching others in a relevant retail/ sales/ finance environment.
  • Strong personal track record of sales success in customer facing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Current UK or EU Driving License

It Is Desirable If You Have

  • A relevant 3rd Level qualification.
  • Experience in Training design and delivery.
  • Relevant Post Office experience.

This is a full-time position working 36.5 hours per week. Normal working hours will be 8:45am-4:45pm Monday to Thursday and 8:45am-3:45pm Friday
