What You Will Do

Reporting to the UK Managing Director, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for planning, directing and controlling all operational activities within the port to achieve business goals, profit and operational effectiveness
  • You will be responsible for the general management of the London port operation, ensuring local business objectives are aligned to overall company strategy
  • Lead the delivery of safe, cost effective, competitive and timely towage services within the port.
  • Provide leadership and direction to crew and onshore staff through empowerment, mentorship and development
  • Drive up employee engagement through effective day to day management of our people
  • Build and nurture relationships with external stakeholders within the Port (customers, agents, port authority, unions) to derive maximum value from the business relationship and to ensure towage & terminal operations are delivered to our customers in an effective and efficient manner
  • Overall P&L management and accountability for the port operations
  • To monitor and control the port operating budget to ensure that all resources are deployed effectively and that the port is running at optimal operational efficiency ensuring revenue retention



What You Will Need

  • Proven experience in a senior operational role within the maritime, oil & gas, offshore or similar industries
  • Educated to degree level and/or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate, influence change and persuasively communicate new concepts and practices at all levels
  • Have strong financial management skills
  • A strategic mindset, balancing short-term goals with long-term objectives for sustainable growth
  • Be innovative and adaptable to evolving operational challenges
  • A leadership approach that promotes inclusivity, encourages collaboration, and drives high levels of employee engagement.
