Join Our Strategic Delivery Office and Help Shape the Future of Infrastructure at Severn Trent

Are you ready to be part of a high-performing team here at Severn Trent? At Severn Trent, our Strategic Delivery Office (SDO) is at the heart of delivering AMP8 outcomes - reliably, efficiently, and sustainably. With a focus on innovation, insight, and collaboration, we’re on a mission to deliver £1bn in savings while building infrastructure that’s ready for the future and generations to come.

Why Join Us?

We’ve established the SDO to strengthen governance, track progress, and overcome challenges across our capital portfolio. Our goal? To ensure every decision - from design to delivery - is shaped by the voice of our customers.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW

Following a successful promotion within the team we’re looking for a passionate and detail-driven Programme Controller to join our Capital team. You’ll be based at one of our key locations: Finham (Coventry), Shelton (Shrewsbury), or Raynesway (Derby).

In this role, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring our capital programmes are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. You’ll embed robust governance, provide critical insights, and help us stay on track to meet our ambitious goals.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead reporting and analysis for one of our flagship programmes within the Capital Delivery & Commercial portfolio.
  • Champion data-driven decision-making through consistent, high-quality reporting and analytics.
  • Ensure data accuracy and build stakeholder confidence in our programme insights.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Design, Delivery and Commercial teams - challenging constructively and supporting success.
  • Present key insights to senior leaders and performance and portfolio boards.
  • Proactively manage risks, identify opportunities, and support programme resilience.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in a programme or project management environment, with a strong grasp of project controls (financial, risk, benefits etc).
  • Proficiency in Excel and Power BI; experience with Primavera P6 or MSP is a plus, but not essential.
  • A collaborative mindset, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for making a difference.

Why You? Why Now?

We’re looking for people who care - about their work, their team, and the communities we serve. If you’re someone who shows up, gets involved, and wants to be part of something bigger, we’d love to hear from you.

At Severn Trent, we celebrate individuality and welcome people from all backgrounds. Diverse minds and experiences help us grow, learn, and better serve our customers.

What’s In It For You

It’s not just a job you’ll get here, you’ll get a career too. We have a range of benefits that reward and recognise great work and award-winning training to ensure you reach your potential. And we’ll also help you play your part in looking after the environment and the community in which we live. Here’s some of our favourites:

  • 28 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy / sell up to 5 additional days per year)
  • Annual bonus scheme (of up to £2,250 depending on company performance)
  • Leading pension scheme – we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%)
  • Sharesave – the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate
  • Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers
  • Family friendly policies
  • Two volunteering days per year
