Position Overview

The Quality Manager is responsible for setting and maintaining excellent standards of quality for the plant. You’ll ensure the plant achieves Ball’s quality goals through the installation and maintenance of effective manufacturing systems and through leadership, motivation and support of all plant personnel.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times and to support improvements to safety, staff welfare and environmental impacts.
  • Ensure that all quality standards are met though management of people and systems, both direct and indirect report.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of quality, customer service and costs.
  • Manage the department’s resources to meet the budget and the requirements of the production schedule.
  • Lead and influence other departments to ensure that quality matters are fully supported.
  • Manage the performance and development of department staff, including identifying training needs, coaching and promoting teamwork.
  • Maintain ISO9001, FSSC 22000, and all other relevant quality and food safety management system standards. Manage the auditing process with the external auditors and internal process controllers around the relevant standards.
  • Support the maintenance of the ISO 14001 and 45001 systems, ASI and Sedex.


What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience in a Quality-related role in a manufacturing facility, within a multinational, matrix organisation.
  • Degree-qualified or with sufficient experience and qualifications
  • Experienced in internal an external auditing processes (system and process audits)
  • In depth knowledge of ISO 9001, 22000 FSSC (Food Safety), and GMP/Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
