Role
We are looking for a Mystery Box Payment Manager to oversee all aspects of the subscription experience—from product curation and sourcing to packaging, shipping, and coordinating with the customer relationship management. You will be responsible for account openings, payments and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full subscription payment cycle, including account openings, billing, and renewals.
- Manage and monitor all incoming and outgoing payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Coordinate with product teams on product curation, sourcing, packaging, and shipping logistics to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
- Work closely with the customer relationship management (CRM) team to resolve payment-related inquiries and improve the overall customer experience.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports related to subscription revenues, payment trends, and outstanding balances.
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to optimize payment operations and enhance efficiency.
- Liaise with external partners and vendors (e.g., payment processors, logistics providers) as needed.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities for subscription revenues.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to payment performance and customer retention.
- Proven experience in payment operations, subscription billing, or financial account management with mystery boxes
- Strong understanding of payment systems, account opening procedures, and financial reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Experience working with customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Solid knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements related to payments and financial transactions.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Experience in the e-commerce, subscription box, or retail industry.
- Familiarity with international payment systems and cross-border transactions.
- Previous experience working with logistics or supply chain teams.
- Knowledge of ERP systems or advanced financial software tools.
- Additional certifications in finance, accounting, or payment security (e.g., CPA, CIMA, PCI compliance certifications).
- Strong data analysis skills and experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience implementing or optimizing automated payment solutions.
- Multilingual abilities to support international customer and vendor communications.
- Passion for customer experience and a keen interest in subscription-based business models.
