You’ll lead the implementation of the Accessible Information Standard (AIS), oversee our Interpretation and Translation (I&T) services, and work closely with clinical teams and senior leaders to create lasting change.

If you’re driven by fairness, have expertise in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), and are ready to make a tangible difference, join us at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust. We offer a supportive, inclusive environment where your impact matters, your growth is valued, and your work changes lives.

As The Patient Equity Lead, You Will

  • Implement the Accessible Information Standard (AIS) across the Trust to improve access to care for patients with disabilities, language barriers, and cultural differences.
  • Oversee and manage the Trust’s Interpretation and Translation services, ensuring high-quality delivery and value for resources.
  • Lead patient accessibility and equity initiatives to address health inequalities and enhance patient experiences.
  • Provide expert guidance on EDI principles to clinical teams, senior leaders, and regional partners.
  • Analyse patient access and outcomes data to identify inequalities and design solutions for equitable care.
  • Develop and deliver training sessions on health inequalities, cultural competency, and reasonable adjustments.
  • Engage directly with patients, families, and advocacy groups to ensure their voices shape services.

To Excel In This Role, You’ll Need

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills to influence senior leaders and engage diverse teams.
  • Expertise in EDI, health inequalities, and service improvement.
  • Analytical skills to assess data and develop actionable insights.
  • A proactive approach to planning and delivering projects in a complex healthcare environment.

At Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, our EDI team lives by shared values of openness, honesty, a strong work ethic, trust, and our overarching north star of fairness. We lead by example, demonstrating the principles we champion in everything we do. We belong to a team and organisation that values collaboration, compassion, innovation, and respect, creating an environment where everyone feels included and valued. We are always improving, striving to empower individuals to drive change and to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our patients and staff. If you share our passion for equity and inclusion, you’ll find a supportive home here where you can thrive and grow.
