Are you passionate about supporting the personal and academic growth of young people? Do you have the skills to inspire, motivate, and guide students through their secondary school journey? A secondary school in Oldham is seeking a dedicated and experienced Pastoral Head of Year to join their team.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality pastoral care and guidance to students within your year group.
- Work closely with students, parents, and staff to ensure student well-being and academic progress.
- Monitor attendance, behaviour, and academic performance, addressing any concerns proactively.
- Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and personal development.
- Lead and contribute to whole-school initiatives to promote positive behaviour and a supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, teachers, and support staff to ensure the effective implementation of pastoral policies.
- Organise and deliver year group assemblies and events, encouraging a sense of community and achievement.
- Previous experience in a pastoral or student support role, ideally in a secondary school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A confident leader with excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to student welfare.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour and support students with diverse needs.
- A positive and resilient approach, with the ability to inspire and motivate young people.
