The Avalanche Foundation is at the forefront of innovation in Web3, blockchain, and decentralized technologies. We're seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our legal team. This role will provide critical support to the Foundation and its affiliated entities across a wide range of legal and operational needs. Reporting to the General Counsel, you'll have the opportunity to work on complex and novel matters in the crypto ecosystem, including treasury management, contracts, compliance, and regulatory developments. Salary Range: $90,000 to $115,000

Contract Support & Management
- Assist with drafting, reviewing, and maintaining a wide range of agreements (e.g., vendor, services, grants, and partnership contracts).
- Manage the contract lifecycle, including approvals, execution, and document retention.
- Maintain and improve the centralized repositories for legal agreements, documentation, and templates.
- Support governance and compliance requirements for the Foundation and its affiliated entities.
- Assist with board and shareholder documentation, corporate filings, and record-keeping.
- Coordinate with external counsel on entity management and compliance.
- Help track global regulatory developments impacting the Foundation's activities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of compliance policies, training, and risk management processes.
- Conduct basic research on legal and regulatory topics relevant to blockchain, digital assets, and treasury management.
- Organize, update, and maintain the legal team's knowledge base, including templates, playbooks, and internal guides.
- Provide administrative support for legal projects, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are tracked.
- Assist with implementing legal technology tools to improve workflow and efficiency.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (finance, compliance, business development, operations) to support legal needs.
Professional Experience
- 2–4+ years of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a law firm or in-house legal department.
- Experience in crypto, Web3, fintech, or other highly regulated/technology-driven industries strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with working across multiple jurisdictions (a plus).
- Solid understanding of corporate governance, contract management, and compliance fundamentals.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to clearly summarize complex information.
- Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, LawVu).
- Comfort with (or willingness to learn) legal tech solutions such as contract lifecycle management systems.
- Intellectual curiosity and a proactive mindset—especially regarding blockchain and digital assets.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Paralegal certification (ideal).
- Additional legal, compliance, or crypto-related coursework/certifications a plus.
