Portsmouth News Print Production Specialist
National World needs a committed, talented and enthusiastic senior journalism professional to join the print team responsible for producing the print editions of the Portsmouth News.
About The Role
We are looking for someone who can confidently edit copy from a range of different sources, write engaging headlines and produce top quality print pages for this highly respected daily newspaper.
The main role will be to produce high quality news pages by editing words and pictures from a number of internal and external sources to appropriate legal, ethical and moral standards.
The majority of the work will be on news pages, but there will be occasions when you will work on sport pages.
You will report to the print editor and be part of a team processing such content and act as the point of contact for those submitting the content. You will be asked to step up and oversee the print production process in the print editor’s absence
The successful candidate will also be expected to liaise with local team colleagues, line manager and other editorial and commercial team members across the business.
This is a home working role.
About You
In order to be considered, you will need to show evidence of experience working in a print production role, or be able to demonstrate that you have the appropriate skills to take on the role as described.
A knowledge or previous use of the Desk & Editor content management system would be preferable, but is not essential. Training can be provided to the right candidate.
Knowledge of Portsmouth and the surrounding area would be an advantage but is also not essential.
An ability to work confidently at speed to achieve print deadlines is required
Salary & Benefits
The role comes with a salary of £33,950. In addition, you will receive 34 days annual leave per year.
There are also a range of other employee benefits available including a company pension scheme and employee health care scheme
