Monday - Friday working a 7 hour day with one day off during the week.
Typical hours between 09:00 - 17:00 but includes up to two outreach shifts a week which will be a flexible start time, typically 06:00 - 13:30.
In addition it is a mandatory requirement to take part in the bi monthly street counts which take place through the night with toil the following day.

You will be working as part of a team to provide support to our homeless clients. You will love helping others and enjoy supporting individuals to achieve their goals and to become more independent. Your positive attitude towards your work and others will help to contribute to a great working environment. You will have a calm and personable manner and be able to handle potentially difficult situations.
The ideal candidate will be confident to approach unknown people at their rough sleeper site and build relationships with rough sleepers out in the community/on the street, will have an understanding of the complex needs people experiencing homelessness have and will be a dynamic thinker to look at a trauma informed approach to support people out of homelessness. In addition to supporting people from street homelessness into accommodation, the successful candidate will be able to tailor support to transition someone into tenancy sustainment. An understanding of how to set up utilities, benefits, PIP and rents is advantageous in this role. As is being able to identify support needs and sign post to partner agencies for support in areas other than housing.
This can be a lone worker role so the successful candidate will be self motivated to support the clients in the best way they can, ensuring delivery of support agreed.
The successful candidate will also be able to advocate for clients in multi agency meetings and have a knowledge of adult safeguarding as well as keep accurate client records.

- Clear verbal and written English
- Good IT and keyboard skills
- Polite, assertive manner, ability to self -motivate
- Passion for working in a client/customer facing role
- Knowledge of the benefits system and tenancy legislation
- Have an interest and genuine concern for homelessness and related issues
- Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies
- A full driver’s licence and access to your own vehicle is essential for this role
