Lightbody’s is the UK’s largest supplier of celebration cakes to UK retailers, with Disney, Mars, Universal and Thorntons all within the portfolio of branded cakes made under licence. This is what you’ll actually do!
As a First Line Manager, you will provide first line leadership for operating teams to deliver the range of operational performance indicators on a regular basis throughout the day. You will be accountable for the daily operational aspect of your designated area. You will be responsible for ensuring the production of quality products in a safe and organised working environment.
In the role you will be tasked with managing daily budgets, including labour and materials, and will be responsible for reporting on these on a daily basis. Our First Line Managers must put safety at the forefront of what they do, ensuring procedures are complied with which includes logging accidents and near misses if they happen. There is also an opportunity for you to get involved in project work with the view of continuously improving the way we do things.
You will be responsible for directly managing a team, managing headcounts, and upskilling and developing team members. You will oversee the absence management of your team and conduct investigations and disciplinaries where appropriate. You will be your teams first point of contact and it is imperative that you are able to communicate clearly. As a First Line Manager you will promote the company values and foster a culture of trust within the team and wider business to contribute to our wider success.
