Do you have data analytics experience in workforce planning (or a related field) with time spent in a leadership role? We’re seeking a skilled and strategic Operational Workforce Planning Lead to join our People team on a 6-month fixed term contract. We need a a skilled and strategic Operational Workforce Planning Lead to oversee the development and implementation of operational workforce planning to support some key areas of our business, and our ability to forecast resource needs and changes over a timeframe. This role is critical in ensuring that we have the right people, with the right skills, in the right places and positions to meet our operational goals. You’ll possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of workforce dynamics, and have a proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to accurately identify data requirements that will inform effective Operational Workforce planning and solutions.

You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, either at one of our office locations in Bolton, Tunbridge Wells or Bristol or visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive workforce planning strategy that aligns with AXA’s operational objectives and long-term goals.
- Analyse workforce data and trends to forecast future staffing needs, changes in skills, and optimal locations over a 6-18-month horizon identifying gaps and recommend solutions to optimise workforce utilisation.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to understand their workforce requirements and ensure alignment with business strategies, provide detailed insights and forecasts to leadership enabling informed decision-making.
- Identify and implement process improvements in operational workforce planning methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in staffing decisions (leverage stakeholder input to refine processes).
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Learning and Development teams to identify skill development needs / insights identified through the reporting and tracking.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to track workforce planning effectiveness.
- Lead change management initiatives to drive ongoing embedding and improvement of the data and reporting to meet ongoing business needs engaging with stakeholders to communicate changes and gather feedback.
- Ensure that all workforce planning practices comply with company policies, employment law, and industry standards while incorporating best practices in workforce management.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience in workforce planning, or a related field, with time spent in a leadership role.
- Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in workforce analytics and data interpretation, particularly in forecasting resourcing needs and skill requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrable experience of Workday and power BI and access database / SQL – preferred by not essential, with a focus on data analytics capabilities.
- Proven ability to lead projects and manage cross-functional teams effectively.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing business needs.
- Familiarity with industry trends and best practices in workforce planning and resource allocation.
