Your impact
As a Senior Road Safety Engineer within our Aviation, Rail and Technology group, you will be instrumental in shaping safer transport networks across the UK and internationally. You will lead the delivery of road safety audits, operational safety reviews, and risk assessments, ensuring that every project meets the highest standards of safety, compliance, and sustainability.

Your impact
As a Senior Road Safety Engineer within our Aviation, Rail and Technology group, you will be instrumental in shaping safer transport networks across the UK and internationally. You will lead the delivery of road safety audits, operational safety reviews, and risk assessments, ensuring that every project meets the highest standards of safety, compliance, and sustainability.
You will work across all stages of infrastructure design, embedding safety from concept through to delivery. Your role will involve
- Leading road safety audits and operational safety reviews in accordance with national and international standards
- Conducting safety risk assessments, collision analysis, and investigations to inform design improvements
- Advising on governance and compliance processes, ensuring alignment with health, safety, and environmental legislation
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to embed safety into project lifecycles
- Supporting the growth of our road safety capability, particularly in the South-East of England and the Middle East
- Promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement across teams and projects
- Sharing knowledge and mentoring junior engineers, contributing to the development of best practices
- Working flexibly, with opportunities for internal mobility and full support for training and audit qualifications
Here's what you'll need
To succeed in this role, you will bring a strong foundation in road safety engineering and a proactive, collaborative mindset. Specifically, we’re looking for
- Demonstrable experience in road safety engineering, including road safety audits, operational safety reviews, safety risk assessments, and collision analysis
- DMRB GG119 Certificate of Competence and current compliance as an Audit Team Leader or Member
- Strong understanding of UK design standards and their application in infrastructure projects
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders
- Membership of a recognised professional institution, with eligibility or ambition to work towards IEng or CEng registration if not already achieved
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits and audits
