Job Description
Main Purpose of the Role
The role is shore based with the delivery of services, operations and partnership management on our 7 ships across 3 sailing routes. Regular traveling onboard the ships is essential.
The role is to support the day-to-day management of our 3 rd party supply base and operational project management.
The OBS department is responsible and accountable for all passenger activity onboard the ships; safety, service & standards, crew, all Food and Beverage concepts, retail shops, leisure activity, Forex, gaming & entertainment, vending, 3 rd parties and general operations.
The OBS Strategy is to ensure 3 rd party relationships and projects activity is well thought out, regular communication resulting in full engagement and collaboration.
This role is responsible for managing and supporting the Director of OBS formulating the annual strategies, delivering the day-to-day events, operational requirements, and managing 3 rd parties to their contracts. Leading and delivering projects alongside the OBS team. The role includes 3 rd party and internal project management to support the over-arching OBS strategy.

The Retail shops.
World Duty Free partnership.
The Leisure business.
Live band entertainment, children’s entertainment & collateral, theme & mini cruises, events planning. All gaming, casino and cinema entertainment.
Hospitality.
The Food & Beverage concepts across the fleet.
General Operations.
Incentives and promotions, marketing material, project coordination, team planner, launching of initiatives and onboard services.
CAPEX.
Support with business plans for investment back into the business, new initiatives, from creation to execution alongside the team.
Financial.
Contributing to beating the OBS budget by personally driving the Key matrixes: Revenue, Spend per head, Margins and Customer satisfaction (NPS). Manage budgets within the area.
As well as development; lead delivery of new products and partnerships
This role sits within the Passenger department and reports into the Director of Onboard Services, Operations, and Partnerships. It has been created to ensure day to day management support is in place for the OBS team, to support them in the cultivation and maintenance of the 3 rd parties, operational projects and daily operations.
This role will equally fulfil an important part in ensuring all internal P&O stakeholders, especially working alongside the P&O procurement, finance, fleet teams to achieve delivery so having the correct level of engagement and input into both the day-to-day and the long-term approach to the onboard partnerships.
To comply with the Health, Safety and Security requirements always when upon the ships.
Key Tasks And Responsibilities
Work closely with the Director of OBS on new initiatives, projects, CAPEX and day-to-day operations
Support the Director of OBS in the day-to-day management of the performance of the 3rd parties and OBS projects to achieve & exceed KPIs / SLAs.
Hold weekly & monthly performance meetings to manage the monthly activities aligned to the strategies.
Be part of the OBS team, synergising with operations, training, and systems.
To ensure clear day to day coordination between P&O and third-party partners, being the internal P&O link between the Business unit (OBS)
Manage and deliver appropriate entertainment propositions based on ship/sector and within budget, deliver the agreed mix of themed cruises, children’s entertainment across the fleet working with the Marketing team to promote across the various forms of media.
To manage product availability (F&B & Retail) and execution of the 3rd party supplier’s activities.
Ensure that there is a link between P&O and 3rd Parties to overcome and managed the complexity of on-board constraints to allow the right offer to be delivered for the customer.
Develop appropriate business cases to implement new products to market.
Personally demonstrate appropriate behaviours, pace & urgency, ways of working to reflect / support the company policy regarding diversity – drive this approach across your team.

Knowledge & Skills - Essential
Sector knowledge: Working knowledge and experience of the day-to-day operations in Retail, F&B, Leisure and the travel sector
Proven commercial acumen: A proven track record of supporting the delivery of results using financial modelling, analysis and budget management.
Project Management: The ability to manage numerous projects on the go with good planning and organisational skills. Ability to juggle and prioritise tasks to meet business objectives in a fast based complex environment. PC literate and competent in all Microsoft Office applications with good PowerPoint and Excel skills
3rd Parties: Confident and articulate to communicate with our suppliers.
Process orientation: Working knowledge and experience of the processes and systems required to support the setting and monitoring of qualitative and quantitative measures to inform KPI achievements.
Decision making: Able to gather all key information and quickly identify real root and cause of problems to support robust decision making.
