Nursing Clinical Lead - Emergency Department

The Emergency Department is looking for a dynamic and motivated leader to join the department as Clinical Lead Nurse.

The post holder will have full responsibility for the overall nursing management of the ED at Warwick Hospital and Minor Injuries in Stratford, providing clinical and professional leadership for Nurses, Nurse Associates, Clinical Support Workers and Emergency Nurse Practitioners (ENP’s). This will involve ensuring safe nurse staffing by appropriate deployment, delegation, co-ordination and supervision of grades of staff. This responsibility includes ensuring all staff work within the competencies appropriate to their professional qualifications and grading. The post holder will provide an environment conducive to the needs of all nursing and care members of staff, meeting their learning and development requirements.

The post holder will display a high profile, be accessible and responsive as a clinical leader with managerial responsibility for nursing and health care service delivery throughout Warwick Hospital Emergency Department and the Stratford MIU. Displaying excellent leadership skills, the post holder will ensure that the department delivers high quality patient experience, care and outcomes. The post holder will be able to make informed decisions within their own specialty and scope of professional practice, involving the patients and public to ensure agreed standards, targets and objectives. To work in collaboration with the General Manager and Head of Nursing to ensure that the national and local operational and quality targets are met, e.g. 4-hour emergency performance standard and ambulance turnaround times.

The post holder will also hold overall responsibility for managing the electronic staff rota in order to maximise staffing efficiency and minimise the requirement for bank and agency staff.
