Health Protection Administrator,
Band 4, Full Time,
An exciting opportunity has arisen within NHS Grampian’s Health Protection Team to recruit an experienced full-time, Band 4, Health Protection Administrator on a permanent contract. The Health Protection service and operational delivery require telephone lines to be manned Monday to Friday, 09:00 17:00. Therefore, this is an office base role, with home working function/task very limited.
This is an evolving role within the Health Protection Team, which involves working alongside two other Administrators, Health Protection Officers, Consultants, Health Protection & TB Nurse Specialists.
The postholder is the first point of contact for the public/patients and colleagues from other professional disciplines and organisations. The post holder must be able to triage callers to the right part of the team and refer cases to other agencies within and out with NHSG.
Reporting to the Public Health Manager, this role is responsible for providing a dynamic and confidential administrative support to the Health Protection Team in their responsibility to NHS Grampian for the surveillance, investigation, and control of communicable disease and non-infectious environmental hazards in Grampian.
The postholder will have excellent communication skills, able to manage workload to meet deadlines, using well developed organisational and planning skills, have the ability to work effectively as an integral part of the team, able to work on own initiative, an ability to prioritise their own workload whilst becoming a valued member of the team.
The postholder will provide a high-quality health protection service to the population of Grampian which is in-line with the Public Health etc. (Scotland) Act 2008 where the responsibility for the management of people rests with Public Health.
