Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Through bottom-up analysis and the DOMS process, identify ways in which the water network in the area can be optimised to safeguard service delivery standards and regulatory compliance whilst operating in the most cost effective way.
- Supporting Water Quality and Public Health teams with any queries, risks, identification of solutions and any actions assigned in the NPE area are delivered in a timely manner.
- Supporting the Network Performance Manager in identifying ways in which regional strategies can be effectively implemented in the area.
- Identifying and quantifying risks to service, health & safety and/or regulatory standards effectively articulating / escalating to the Network Performance Manager. Logging and promoting the need and scope for investment where required.
- Apply hydraulic modelling techniques and support the maintenance of models at a local DMZ level, utilising modelling for planned work support, incident management, risk assessments and proactive network optimisation.
- Provide engineering advice to the Technical Support Officer and/or our contractors to ensure potentially difficult jobs are resolved in a timely manner.
- Provide engineering support to facilitate development and promotion of Non-Core maintenance projects, e.g. PMVs, meters, diversions and minor mains improvement schemes.
- Act as a point of liaison for the Network Capital Delivery teams for development and promotion of capital maintenance schemes in the area, providing technical and engineering support.
- Provide engineering support to Developer Services teams with regards to potential new connections.
- Where necessary liaise with stakeholders and ensure network schematic and connectivity is maintained and assist with any queries, investigations and resolutions.

- Knowledge of the regulatory framework in which the business operates to maintain compliance.
- Understanding of asset management techniques, capital investment and finance, policies and procedures.
- Ability to identify, develop and drive through solutions to a wide range of technical and analytical problems.
- Understanding and working knowledge of hydraulic modelling.
- Participate in a formal standby to provide out of hours *NPE-related support to Network Technicians and Customer Technicians
- You will closely align, geographically and operationally, with a Technical Support Officer.
- The role will cover the county area of Greater Manchester.
