Nations Support Officer

Home-based (within Wales)

About Us

Sported is a leading charity supporting the UK's largest network of sport and physical activity groups, and we exist to provide the skills, resources, and funding needed for them to become sustainable and deliver services to the young people and communities they serve.

It has never been a harder time to be a young person growing up in the UK. Poverty, crime, and mental health issues, coupled with youth unemployment and COVID-19, have compounded already disadvantaged communities and individuals and widened inequalities.

We support the thousands of community sports groups that seek to remove barriers from young people’s lives to allow them to thrive against the odds.

We are now looking for a Nations Support Officer to join us on a part-time, fixed-term basis until June 2025, working 2.5 days per week.

The Benefits

- Salary of £23,400 - £26,523 per annum (pro rata)

- Two additional days of personal leave per year for religious holidays and/or wellbeing days

- Volunteer Days - two additional days of paid leave each year to volunteer for another charity or our Sported members

- Up to five days of paid study leave for self-funded education/training

- Flexible working arrangements

- A confidential counselling service

- Access to a pension scheme to give you peace of mind

- Virtual Diversity & Inclusion ‘Open Space’ every month

This is a rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with experience in a client facing or membership support role to join our impact-driven organisation.

You’ll have the chance to build meaningful relationships with community groups and volunteers, helping them access the resources and support they need to break down barriers and create positive change in disadvantaged communities.

So, if you want to gain valuable experience while contributing to an organisation that is dedicated to using sport as a tool for social good, empowering thousands of young people across the UK, then apply today!

The Role

As our Nations Support Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the Delivery Team to engage with over 3,000 members and 300 volunteers, ensuring they receive the full range of services and benefits available to them.

Helping to develop our member engagement strategy, you will assist in delivering key partnerships and projects while meeting all monitoring and evaluation requirements.

You will also manage relationships with our members, advise them on support services and update relevant databases, while co-ordinating events and communications to foster member engagement.

Additionally, you will:

- Process new member applications and conduct welcome calls

- Create content for member communications

- Support the management of volunteers and assist in placing them with member groups

- Assist National and Project Managers with administration for key projects

About You

To be considered as our Nations Support Officer, you will need:

- Experience working in a client facing or membership support role

- Experience of administering programmes and/or projects to a high standard

- Experience working in a skilled administration role

- Experience of database management, ensuring confident use of digital systems

- The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion at all times

The closing date for this role is the 28th October 2024 at 9am.

Other organisations may call this role Programme Administrator, Membership Administrator, Membership Support Co-ordinator, Programme Support Officer, Regional Programme Officer, Regional Support Administrator, or Comms and Engagement Officer.
