We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Mobility Technician to join our expanding team based in Worksop.


Job Summary:

As a Mobility Technician at MLV Mobility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our mobility equipment. You will be responsible for building, repairing, refurbishing, and maintaining a range of mobility products, including mobility scooters, powered wheelchairs, walking aids, and lift and rise chairs. This role involves travelling to customers' homes in a company vehicle. While we ideally seek a qualified technician, we welcome applications from individuals with relevant experience, as a comprehensive training and competency package will be provided to the successful candidate.


Responsibilities:

  • Assemble new mobility scooters, powered wheelchairs, walking aids, and lift and rise chairs according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults on mobility equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance and servicing on mobility products to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Refurbish used mobility equipment to a high standard, ensuring safety and functionality.
  • Conduct safety checks and inspections on repaired and refurbished equipment.
  • Accurately document all work carried out using a company laptop/tablet.
  • Provide technical support and advice to customers in their homes.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations.
  • Travel to customers' homes within a defined service area using a company van.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ideally, a relevant qualification in mechanical/electrical engineering or a related field is desirable, but not essential.
  • Proven experience in mechanical and/or electrical repair and maintenance is advantageous.
  • A willingness to learn and undertake comprehensive training.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers in their homes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule effectively.
  • Essential: Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Comfortable using a laptop/tablet for documentation purposes.
