Salary: £90 - £110 per day (Depending on experience).

GSL Education are seeking a dedicated and proactive Midday Learning Supervisor to join a dynamic school in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. This role is perfect for those who enjoy working with children, fostering positive relationships and ensuring a safe and enjoyable lunchtime experience. Role Overview
As the Midday Learning Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising students during their lunch break, ensuring their safety and well-being whilst promoting positive social interactions. Your role will go beyond simply ensuring that children are eating, as you will also encourage active participation in lunchtime activities and provide support to those requiring additional guidance. You will help foster a calm, structured and inclusive environment, ensuring that students engage in positive play and follow school rules.
Midday Learning Supervisor Key Responsibilities

Midday Learning Supervisor Key Responsibilities
- Supervise students during lunchtime, both in the dining hall and during outdoor playtime, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Support children in developing social skills, promoting positive interactions and behaviour amongst peers.
- Encourage students to participate in outdoor activities, supporting healthy play and physical exercise.
- Assist children with their meal choices, ensuring a positive dining experience and encouraging healthy eating habits.
- Provide support to children who may require additional assistance, including those with Special Educational Needs or those who require emotional or behavioural support.
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and order in dining areas, ensuring that students follow appropriate hygiene practices.
- Be a visible, approachable presence on the playground, promoting positive behaviour and intervening where necessary to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
- Work collaboratively with other staff members, including teaching assistants and senior leadership, to support students' overall development.
- Previous experience working with children in a school setting, ideally in a lunchtime supervisory role, or as a Teaching Assistant.
- A positive, calm and proactive approach to working with children, with the ability to engage and manage behaviour effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students, staff and parents.
- Ability to work as part of a team, supporting colleagues in maintaining a positive and organised environment.
- A genuine interest in child development and supporting the well-being of students during non-structured times.
- An understanding of the importance of promoting good behaviour, health and well-being and safety.
- Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
- Enjoy a pay rate of £90 - £110 per day, recognising your valuable contribution to student well-being.
