The Data Analyst will play a crucial role in the MI team, focusing on writing complex SQL queries to interrogate both a conformed reporting database as well as raw source databases. This role is essential for providing accurate and timely data analysis to identify and support system and process defects, ensuring both the business and customers are well-supported.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain complex SQL queries to extract and analyse data from various databases.
- Interrogate reporting databases and source databases to identify and impact assess system and process defects.
- Provide insights and data-driven recommendations to support process improvements.
- Compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports highlighting system and process defects for operational leaders.
- Develop accurate data models to aid in defect analysis and resolution.
- Identify and analyse trends and patterns in defects to help with business planning and risk mitigation.
- Work closely with IT and other business partners to design and provide reports from new systems.
- Develop strong relationships and work closely with teams across the business.
- Present findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, emphasising the impact of defects on business and customer support.
- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries.
- Intermediate Excel knowledge (vlookup, sumifs, tables, pivot tables, etc.).
- Experience in creating reports and documents to support multiple people/processes.
- A passion for building a career in data.
- Willingness and ability to learn technical disciplines in both traditional and practical settings.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI.
- Knowledge of database management and data warehousing concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
