Responsibilities
- Provide empathetic and nurturing support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to manage their emotions and develop coping strategies.
- Assist in implementing behaviour management strategies, working collaboratively with teachers and SENCO to create and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Offer tailored support to students both in and out of the classroom, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life.
- Build trusting relationships with students, promoting their self-esteem and encouraging positive social interactions.
- Work closely with educational psychologists, social workers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support for students with SEMH needs.
- Track and report on student progress, contributing to reviews and assessments to support their educational and personal development.
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs in an educational or similar setting.
- Understanding of SEMH issues and effective strategies for supporting students.
- Patience, resilience, and a calm demeanour to manage challenging situations sensitively.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, contributing positively to the school community.

- Have the right to work in the UK.
- Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
