Medical Secretary - Audiology

The Audiology department at SWB provides a comprehensive audiology service to both adults and children in Birmingham and Sandwell. The secretarial team provide a service to our Consultant Paediatricians, ENT Colleagues, Clinical Scientists and Audiologists leading clinics. The role may include providing secretarial support to managerial staff within Audiology.
The post is part time working 18 hours per week over 3 or 4 days.
Provide a comprehensive secretarial service to the Audiology department across Sandwell and West Birmingham sites, supporting Consultants in ENT and Paediatrics, Clinical Scientists in Audiology and Audiologists.
The post holder will be responsible for producing clinical letters and reports as well as taking minutes in meetings.
Ensure clinical letters are accurate and sent out in a timely manner, planning the workload appropriately to allow for any annual leave.
Maintain medical records by accurate filing of results, correspondence and associated documentation and to ensure all relevant documentation is available for the clinicians at the time of consultation with patients.
Provide a point of contact for patients with telephone queries on behalf of the ENT/paediatric team, using judgement to establish the validity and priority of the contact and taking advice and appropriate action as necessary.
