Mechanical Engineer

Full Time

Derby, Raynesway

Requirement to travel 1 week per Month

Secondment 1-2 years

Rolls-Royce has an exciting secondment opportunity working as a Mechanical Engineer for the Submarines Production Alliance. The team will be based in Derby but will require travel for 1 week per month.

The successful candidate will be embedded into the Platform Team working directly for the Deputy Chief Engineer.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Exercise safety delegated responsibility in control & design of Sec Prop PBS
  • MESM with recent experience of SSN propulsion operations & scenarios (A-Class/S9G)
  • Responsible for generation of SSNA CONOPs + "draft SOPs"
  • Oversight of DRNT SMITE trials programme and incorporation of PWR3 plant integration/LFE into SSNA design.
  • Lead interface with SMITE 2 generation team WRT SSNa specific steam trials, TGs and DRNT LFE

  • Degree level in Engineering or equivalent unless the role is a technician role
  • Experience in relevent domain is preferred but not essential
  • Good communication, presentation skills and an ability to work in a multidiscplinary environment
