Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our equipment team.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of mechanical components and systems for our range of products and equipment to support projects and installations. This is a UK-wide role, and you can be based anywhere in the UK. Some travel will be required, depending on the specific needs of each project.

Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Design Engineer to join our equipment team.
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of mechanical components and systems for our range of products and equipment to support projects and installations. This is a UK-wide role, and you can be based anywhere in the UK. Some travel will be required, depending on the specific needs of each project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components and systems for lifting equipment to the relevant standards, including crane gantry, and supporting structure design, cranes, hoists, and other material handling equipment.
- Prepare detailed drawings and specifications for manufacturing.
- Conduct calculations and simulations along with creating test procedures to ensure designs meet safety and performance requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software engineers, and manufacturing personnel and District and UK Project Teams.
- Stay abreast of the latest technologies and industry trends.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
You'll bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field such as Mechatronics, Robotics, Civil or Structural Engineering. (HNC/HND also considered)
- Proven experience in mechanical design, preferably in the lifting equipment industry.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software, such as AutoCAD, Inventor, Fusion, SolidWorks or similar.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Lifting Equipment Industry experience is desirable but not essential.
