EPW2Job Title: Manufacturing Planner Location: TelfordHours of Work: Mon to Friday 8.30am to 5pmJob Purpose: Reporting directly to the Head of Planning, you will be responsible for daily production planning and scheduling to meet customer demand with optimal stock levels and high delivery performance. This role ensures efficient use of production capacity and resources, coordinates cross-functionally, and champions continuous improvement and lean practices.Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage production schedules aligned with demand, capacity, and resource availability.
- Monitor and control raw materials and consumables for uninterrupted production.
- Adjust schedules based on sales forecasts and volume fluctuations.
- Maintain high stock availability and resolve shortages or discrepancies.
- Communicate with key teams to ensure accurate lead times and customer satisfaction.
- Optimise schedules to balance efficiency, material usage, and changeovers.
- Continuously review planning systems and KPI performance for improvements.
- Promote lean thinking and ensure compliance with ISO9001 and ISO14001.
- Excellent standards of practical production planning, stock control, communication, organisation, personal discipline, Health & Safety, quality of work, time management, problem solving, team collaboration and customer service. Demonstrate a high attention to detail and well organised.
- Stock to be maintained at agreed levels to support customer service levels, with high OTIF.
- Adherence to production schedules, defined lead times and agreed KPI monitors.
- Effective influencer and decisive decision maker. Good team player and can work on own initiative.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, lead by example and resolve any problems quickly.
- Adopt professional, motivated and ethical approach to work, with a growth mind-set.
- Minimum 5 years' planning experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of production scheduling, inventory control, and ERP systems
- Excellent organisational and MS Office skills
- Effective communicator across all levels
- Familiarity with Navision and Mattec (desirable)
