Job Title: Manufacturing Operations Manager

Location: Isle of Wight – Cowes

Salary: Circa £65,000 commensurate with skills and experience

What You’ll Be Doing

  • You will be responsible for delivering the Cowes manufacturing transformation from low-quantity manufacture to higher throughput
  • You will create multiple assembly areas for equipment cabinet production and upgrade
  • Generate a systems integration area for an experimental & third-party system
  • You will enhance the In-Service support capabilities to be world class in order to continue to meet challenging availability regimes, across spares, repairs, and major refurbishment
  • You will ensure that material storage meets the needs across the manufacturing projects and increase manufacturing capacity for core radar products & provision for growth opportunities
  • Lead by example in supporting a safe system of work ensuring compliance with all company SHE policies and procedures
  • Closely manage the coordination of activities across production engineering, logistics, and assembly integration and test (AIT) teams for maximum efficiency
  • You will be responsible for providing assurance that you and your team are trained and compliant with all relevant internal, legislative, regulatory, and contractual requirements
  • Give regular feedback to team leaders and peers on their individual contribution and performance, taking appropriate corrective action where performance of the team falls below defined standards

  • Proven track record of growing a manufacturing business

The Radar Team

The BAE Systems Radar Team undertakes the design, development, manufacture, integration, and test of Radar Systems. We are the supplier of the ARTISAN Radar equipment, fitted to the Type-23, Type-26, and Queen Elizabeth class ships, and the SAMPSON Radar equipment which is fitted to the Type-45 Destroyers, and we provide long-range air defence systems to the Royal Air Force. Advanced future products are currently in development, and we have a number of export customers for our products.
