Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize 5-axis mill-turn machining processes for aerospace actuator components.
- Program, set up, and validate machining operations using Okuma OSP control systems.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability, repeatability, and cost efficiency.
- Lead CNC programming (CAM) for multi-axis lathes and mills; create detailed setup sheets and work instructions.
- Integrate and support robotic automation for part handling, tool management, and in-process measurement.
- Develop and maintain gear cutting and finishing processes for precision gearing used in actuators.
- Utilize Klingelnberg measurement systems for gear inspection and analysis.
- Implement optical and contact metrology for dimensional verification of precision parts.
- Drive continuous improvement in machining performance, tool life, and cycle time.
- Support FAI (First Article Inspection) and PPAP documentation in compliance with AS9100 and aerospace standards.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and provide on-the-floor engineering support.
- Ensure all processes meet tight aerospace tolerances and surface finish requirements.

Experience
Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5+ years experience in CNC manufacturing, with a focus on 5-axis mill-turn operations.
- Proficiency with Okuma controls (OSP) and Okuma 5-axis mill-turn centers (e.g., MULTUS, MU series).
- Experience with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, NX, or Esprit).
- Working knowledge of robotic automation for machining applications.
- Hands-on experience with gear cutting, grinding, and gear metrology.
- Familiarity with Klingelnberg P-series or comparable gear measurement systems.
- Experience with optical measurement systems (e.g., Keyence, Alicona, Zeiss O-Inspect).
- Understanding of GD&T, aerospace quality standards, and process documentation (FAI, SPC, control plans).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience in aerospace actuator or gearbox manufacturing.
- Knowledge of additive + subtractive hybrid machining processes.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or process automation initiatives.
- Understanding of heat treatment, surface finishing, and assembly processes for aerospace parts.
