Reporting directly to the International Sales Director, the Managing Director (GB) will hold overall responsibility for leading and managing the myenergi subsidiary in Great Britain.
This senior leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can balance driving business sales growth with operational efficiency and budget management across three separate P&Ls. Oversight of the operating structure, and strong people management and interpersonal skills, will enable the MD to bring out the best in the team who are operating in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the business, including sales, operations, marketing, financial performance, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and delivering on ambitious growth targets, whilst aligning the GB business with myenergi’ s global vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Develop, document, and implement the overall business strategy for myenergi GB in line with the Group’s global strategy.
Lead the GB business to scale existing channels, identify growth opportunities, and strengthen our market position in the direct to consumer, business to business partner channel, and wholesale renewable energy sectors.
Work closely with the International Sales Director to develop the GB strategy with to align with myenergi’ s global strategy, mission, and values.
Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor developments, policy changes, and technological advancements in Solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging infrastructure.
Sales and Market Expansion
Oversee and drive sales performance across all channels, including direct to consumer, partner channels, wholesale and distribution, working closely with the sales team to achieve ambitious revenue targets.
Ensure the development and execution of go-to-market strategies for existing products and identify new opportunities to expand market presence.
Oversee the solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging installation operations, driving business growth, profitability, and market expansion.
Lead and inspire a growing team of technical, sales, and operations departments, fostering a culture of inter team cooperation, high performance, and continuous improvement.
Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality installations and maintaining strong client relationships.
Operational Excellence
Ensure the operational performance of myenergi GB meets the highest standards, with a focus on efficiency, quality, and scalability.
Oversee supply chain management, ensuring smooth logistics and stock availability to meet market demand.
Implement continuous improvement processes across operations, driving cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Financial Management
Take ownership of the three GB P&Ls, maintaining operational expenditure control to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.
Set and manage budgets, financial targets, incentive structures, forecasts, and provide associated reporting.
Provide regular reports on business performance to the International Sales Director myenergi GB LTD and Group Boards.
Leadership and People Development
Lead, inspire, and develop the GB management team, set them up for success by fostering a culture of mutual understanding, collaboration, innovation, and high performance.
Ensure effective succession planning and talent development strategies are in place to build a strong leadership pipeline. Structure the team for success and bring out the best from direct reports and the wider team.
Champion a positive organisational culture that aligns with myenergi’ s values of sustainability, customer centric focus, and innovation.
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, industry partners, and customers.
Represent myenergi GB at industry events, conferences, and in media engagements, acting as the face of the business in the GB market.
Collaborate closely with the global leadership team to ensure the GB business is aligned with broader corporate goals.
Compliance and Risk Management
Ensure all operations are conducted in line with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for employees, customers and those surrounding our working environment.
Ensure compliance with Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) and electrical standards, overseeing technical compliance and certification processes across Solar PV, battery storage, electric vehicle charging, and related technologies.
Ensure myenergi GB complies with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies.
Manage risks to the business, including financial, operational, and reputational risks, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
Qualifications and Experience:
At least 5 years in a relevant renewable energy sector, particularly managing Solar PV, battery storage, and EV charging installation projects.
Prior experience managing sales teams in both direct to consumer and business to business sectors.
In-depth understanding of MCS requirements and compliance for Solar PV, battery storage and electric vehicle charging installations, ensuring all projects meet the highest industry standards.
Proven track record as a Managing Director, General Manager, or senior business leader within the renewable energy, technology, or related sectors.
Strong strategic and commercial acumen, with experience driving business growth in competitive markets.
Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and P&L management responsibility.
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business strategies, balancing long-term vision with short-term objectives.
Excellent leadership, communication, and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
Strong understanding of the GB energy market, regulatory environment, and renewable energy technologies.
Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed business decisions.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working with senior leadership, boards, and external partners.
