NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Management Accountant to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.
We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant who will be responsible for providing accurate cost information for functional departments, ensuring compliance with Financial Reporting Standards and the robustness of Management Accounts. The role supports Finance Business Partners with third-party providers, insourced categories, and projects, and partners with senior leaders to deliver reporting and analysis that facilitates understanding of functional costs. The post holder will also prepare financial forecasts and budgets, and contribute to longer-term and strategic planning.

- Monitor costs (including tracking budgets, valuing completed work, and overseeing supplier payments) to help control costs and ensure value for money.
- Prepare and coordinate the completion of various data and analytics reports.
- Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring to others where necessary.
- Execute cost accounting activities and evaluate costs and identify variances or opportunities to improve profitability for more senior colleagues.
