                            About The Role
Hartlepool Power Station is offering several 2 year Fixed Term Contract roles within its maintenance department, ideal for motivated nuclear professionals with backgrounds in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation disciplines. These positions focus on enhancing plant availability through timely, value-added maintenance.
Successful candidates will be responsible for carrying out maintenance safely and in line with procedures, updating documentation, and providing feedback to improve plant performance and environmental compliance. They will also support the ERI programme by reporting on plant conditions before and after maintenance, and actively engage in personal development.
Technicians will work flexibly under the guidance of a Maintenance Team Leader, operate within budgetary constraints, and regularly report progress and operational issues to relevant station personnel.
Maintenance technicians will be experienced in power plant maintenance or other heavy industry and it would be preferable for the candidate to have a Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumental bias
Mechanical Experience:- Overhauling various types of Valves, Pumps, Compressors, Diesel engines, Boilers and drive equipment including V belts, chain drives, couplings etc.
Electrical Experience:- Overhauling motors, starters and control equipment, H&V fans, Actuators as well as lighting and small power, fault finding on AC/DC electrical systems.
Instrument Experience:- Calibrating and overhauling equipment associated with the main area principles (pressure, flow, level, temperature). Setting up and calibrating control valves and associated control circuits, fault finding on instrument systems.
Who You Are
You’ll be a qualified maintenance professional with a recognised apprenticeship and an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation disciplines. While not essential, having at least five years of post-apprenticeship experience and a Rigging qualification would be beneficial.

The salary range associated with this role is between £39,543 - £53,385. You’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.
