An Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment within IKO Glass Fiber facility. They perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot electrical issues, and make necessary repairs to prevent downtime and maintain optimal functionality.

General Description:
An Electrical Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems and equipment within IKO Glass Fiber facility. They perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot electrical issues, and make necessary repairs to prevent downtime and maintain optimal functionality.
Essential Functions
- Must have the ability & willingness to perform at the expected level of attendance at IKO Glass Fibers, Inc.; to work every day, on time, as scheduled.
- Promote and maintain IKO safety goals and ensure a safe work environment for all employees. Leads safety and housekeeping efforts and corrective actions within department, assigned projects, and areas with goal of zero incidents. Exemplifies safety in all actions and leads by example.
- Inspect, test, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and machinery.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks to identify and address potential problems.
- Conduct repairs and replacements of electrical components and systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Install and upgrade electrical systems and equipment as needed.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and other technicians to ensure seamless integration of electrical and mechanical components.
- Ensure equipment meets safety and regulatory standards.
- Diagnose electrical problems by using various testing equipment, including multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Identify the root cause of electrical malfunctions and develop effective repair solutions.
- Interpret wiring diagrams and blueprints to locate and rectify issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical malfunctions and equipment breakdowns.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Other duties as required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal and presentation), with the ability to effectively work with others in a team environment.
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to handle complex assignments with a proactive attitude.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- High School diploma or equivalent: technical or vocational training in electrical maintenance preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency in using electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and respond to emergency calls as needed.
- Organized, self-starter, results oriented, unique problem solver.
- Electrical license or certification.
- Staying updated with the latest advancements in electrical troubleshooting and repair.
- Any training required by IKO
- Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves objects up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly bends, stoops, stretches, and reaches to stock office supplies, etc.
- Frequently moves about the facility to survey plant and associates.
- Regularly operates computer and other office equipment.
- Occasionally attends meetings away from the office.
- Regularly work outside in various extreme weather conditions.
- In plant areas, safety shoes, hearing protection, and safety glasses with side shields are required. Hard hat may be required under some conditions
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Electrical Certificate/Diploma from a Technical or Vocational school preferred
