Machine Shop Operator

Main Purpose

To Produce High Quality parts to exceed the Company and Customer (Internal & External) standards, timescales and specifications, and Lead reporting team towards the same purpose.

• Setting & operation of the businesses’ Honing & Moulding machinery.
• Monitor & drive daily output targets for Honing and Moulding sections.
• Ensure production demands are met in full
• Collaborate with Bearing assembly team to ensure that Stock levels are aligned with Material Resource Planning (MRP)requirements.
• Actively produce documentation towards the MS Working Processes Programme and ensure that all aspects of work carried out are fully documented, recorded and maintained.
• Maintain a Teamwork Culture within the team.
• Maintain tooling & workholding maintenance & refurbishment plan to eliminate stockouts.
• Adhere to section KPI’s.
• Assist in fault diagnosis & resolution on production processes.
• Collaborate with Machine Shop Manager to optimise flow of work through sections.
• Collaborate with Machine Shop Manager for routing & run rate changes, & process improvements.
• Have an understanding of VA/VE initiatives.
• Assist to drive Lean Techniques for removing existing “Waste” within MS
• Adhere to the business QM (Quality Management) System Compliance guidelines satisfying BS5750 Pt 1, to include component parts quality, root cause analysis and corrective actions. To include yield improvements and scrap reduction initiatives.
• Adherence to and recording to Safe Systems of Working
• Maintenance of the MS 5’s Programme within the Honing area
• Maintain MRP Transactions in a timely manner.
• Record Inventory usage accurately and in a timely manner.
