The Opportunity
Avantor is looking for a Logistics Operative, to join our team based in Cambridge. In this position, you’ll take ownership of shipping, inventory, and documentation: archiving, maintaining records and preparing reports.
This role will be a full-time, permanent position based in a brand-new facility at the customer site - The Discovery Centre, Bio-Medical Campus in Cambridge. Working hours: Monday to Friday, core hours
The Team
You’ll join a close-knit team of 7 Logistics Technicians. You’ll belong to our business department Lab and Product Services, which supports big pharmaceutical companies and laboratories all over the world, in Research and Development within the Life Sciences industry.

What We’re Looking For
- Education: GCSE or equivalent secondary school qualification
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in material handling, inventory replenishment, or customer service within a logistics environment
- Solid understanding of shipping, inventory, or purchasing processes
- Desirable: Spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and OSHA Right to Know
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Maintain accurate stock levels and manage the movement of samples and consumables across the campus
- Deliver excellent customer service by coordinating with third-party suppliers and couriers, and resolving pricing issues
- Handle administrative tasks with precision, including document control, quote management, and sensitive shipment data
- Ensure accurate labelling and quality checks for outbound shipments
- Procure laboratory stock using our ordering system
