Job Title: Logistics Manager
Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland
Thales is seeking a dedicated and experienced Logistics Manager to join our team in Belfast.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in enhancing our logistics operations and supply chain efficiency, ensuring that we meet the high standards set for our defense, aerospace, and security solutions.
As part of a leading global technology company, you will leverage your expertise to streamline processes and support our mission of delivering innovative products to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute logistics strategies that align with Thales's operational goals and enhance supply chain performance.
- Appoint Logistics Team Leaders
- Manage end-to-end logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, inventory management, and distribution tailored to Thales’s specific work cells
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, production, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless operations and timely delivery of products.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics, identifying trends and implementing process improvements to drive efficiency.
- Oversee compliance with regulatory requirements and Thales’s standards for safety, quality, and ethical operations.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement aligned with Thales’s values.
- Negotiate contracts and maintain relationships with logistics service providers, ensuring service excellence and cost-effectiveness.
- Implement advanced technology solutions for logistics management in line with Thales’s commitment to innovation.
- Support the company's sustainability initiatives by optimizing logistics operations to decrease environmental impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Significant experience in logistics management, ideally within the defense, aerospace, or technology sectors.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills tailoured to complex logistics challenges.
- Proficiency in logistics software and technology tools, with a willingness to adopt new systems.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proven leadership capabilities with a focus on team development and motivation.
- Experience in international logistics and knowledge of import/export regulations related to defence or aerospace industries.
- Familiarity with Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
