What can you expect from CAF?
The role of Logistics Coordinator is pivotal in ensuring seamless logistics operations, including the management of inbound and outbound shipments, inventory oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Stores, and Project Operations to ensure timely and cost-effective logistics solutions aligned with company objectives.

The role of Logistics Coordinator is pivotal in ensuring seamless logistics operations, including the management of inbound and outbound shipments, inventory oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Procurement, Stores, and Project Operations to ensure timely and cost-effective logistics solutions aligned with company objectives.
Your duties will include:
- Design and maintain CAF Rail UK logistics network, optimizing logistics operation for each project and/or depots.
- Coordinate and manage domestic and international shipments, liaising with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs agents. Oversee logistics documentation, track shipments, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
- Ensure full compliance with UK logistics, customs regulations, and internal governance standards.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Project teams to align logistics activities with material availability.
- Act as the link between Material Managers, Procurement, Stores, and Logistics to ensure materials are managed as per CAF Inventory policies.
- Supervise and/or manage repair and reverse logistics cycles across UK sites where required following CAF Standards
- Complete stores transactions when required, including consumptions, NCRs, and other inventory movements.
- Process purchase orders with pre-approved suppliers and maintain accurate records in ERP (GMAO, SAP) and tracking systems.
- Coordinate the return and quarantine of stock from multiple depots due to quality issues, ensuring proper consolidation at Central Stores.
- Lead or support [where applicable] periodic stock audits
- Report monthly KPI’s to the Supply Chain Manager UK and Head of Supply Chain UK as required.
- Ensure compliance with all HSQE requirements
- Work as a team member of the Supply Chain department helping other areas as required.

What will make you successful in this position?
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, Grade 3 or above.
- Full UK driving license preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
- Strong ERP experience (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent) and intermediate to advanced Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, formulas).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to drive continuous improvement in logistics efficiency and service delivery.
- Fluency in English is essential; Spanish language skills are an advantage due to regular collaboration with CAF Spain. Proven relevant experience in warehousing and logistics operations.
