We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and analytical Library & Digital Support Officer to join our Information Services team on a part time basis.
Role Purpose
Our Information Services team is unique in so many ways; providing timely, efficient, added value resource to both inform business decisions and support Technology Partners in their R&D activities. They are a source of valuable knowledge who support our work and R&D functions across the breadth of our business and Technology Partners, utilising methodologies and resources from our collections, putting research questions into context, and identifying possible gap(s) in current knowledge for further research. As a Library & Digital Support Officer at Lucideon, you would play a critical role in the Information Services Team.

Role Purpose
Our Information Services team is unique in so many ways; providing timely, efficient, added value resource to both inform business decisions and support Technology Partners in their R&D activities. They are a source of valuable knowledge who support our work and R&D functions across the breadth of our business and Technology Partners, utilising methodologies and resources from our collections, putting research questions into context, and identifying possible gap(s) in current knowledge for further research. As a Library & Digital Support Officer at Lucideon, you would play a critical role in the Information Services Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Configuration and optimisation of library systems, processes and services
- Management, maintenance and development of the library management system (LOIS hosted by Soutron)
- Liaising with our technical suppliers to ensure online services are up-to-date and to resolve any issues.
- Collection management and development including book ordering and cataloguing
- Connecting with internal & external clients to deliver content and services required to support their work/R&D
- Providing a document supply service
- Providing literature searches to support R&D both internally and externally
- Providing insights to internal teams on current trends, e.g., articles/events of interest to the business.
- Onboarding of new Technology Partners and Lucideon employees
- Providing information literacy training
- Providing copyright awareness across the business
- Promotion of the library
- Keeping up to date on professional skills and library best practice and its application to Lucideon to ensure that we are positioned to take advantage of new developments (e.g., AI), working practices, and alternative sources of content/best value.
- Permanent position
- 3 days per week
- Onsite at our office in Stone, Staffordshire

- HNC or Degree in a Science, STEM subject or Information Science
- Postgraduate Library or Information Science qualification desirable but not mandatory
- Experience working in a library or information service would be ideal
- Interest in science / research
- Excellent computer skills with demonstratable high level of pc literacy, including experience with interactive, mobile and social networking technologies
- Experience in carrying out literature/evidence searches
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work to deadlines, manage own workload and set priorities
- Excellent communication skills

- Research and analytical skills with the ability to make recommendations
