Reporting directly to the COO, this role will be the initial touchpoint for all things legal in the company. We’re looking for a European-based, business-minded legal professional who is a versatile generalist that is willing and experienced in rolling up their sleeves to tackle topics ranging from corporate to commercial, employment, and privacy law across a variety of jurisdictions. While this is an individual contributor role, it won’t be without internal and external support. This role is part in-house counsel and part legal project manager!

On any given day you might be negotiating a commercial agreement with a vendor, working with outside counsel on a critical employment matter, and leading a privacy audit with a third party. The work is very diverse and fast-paced.

We’re a very lean and agile organization. If your background is very corporate and structured or from a large firm, this is not the right job for you.

Also, approaching the work with the right mindset is critical. The primary function of this role is to enable the business to move quickly so we can continue to develop and deploy new solutions to meet the demands of our customers. If you approach legal work from a default vantage point of “protecting the business”, this role is not for you. We believe that the best way to protect the business is to enable our team and customers to get their work done.

Job requirements

• Possess a European law degree
• Robust and proven experience with commercial law
• Strong familiarity with GDPR
• Ability and awareness to know when to engage outside counsel
• Experience working in a fast-paced, agile, international legal role
• Must be highly organized. You’ll be dealing with a wide variety of issues on a day-to-day basis. They’ll range from seemingly trivial to mission-critical. All must continuously be prioritized and acted upon appropriately
• Candidates with experience working with private equity firms are highly desired
