Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note – Salary and Annual Leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Beauty Therapy to join our Hair and Beauty department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Teaching & Assessment – Prepare, deliver, assess, and internally verify Beauty Therapy programmes across multiple levels, ensuring high-quality learning experiences.
  • Student Support & Progress – Guide learners to achieve success, monitor performance, and provide academic reviews and pastoral care.
  • Curriculum & Innovation – Develop schemes of work, create engaging learning materials, and contribute to curriculum development and departmental improvements.
  • Industry Engagement & Promotion – Maintain CPD, integrate vocational opportunities, and participate in marketing activities such as open days and events.
  • Compliance & College Responsibilities – Uphold safeguarding, EDI, and health & safety standards while completing administrative tasks and supporting College-wide initiatives.

About You

  • Essential Qualifications – Level 3 Beauty Therapy qualification, GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), and assessor qualification; willingness to work towards Certificate in Education.
  • Industry Experience & Knowledge – Recent experience in the Beauty industry, strong understanding of current developments, and evidence of high performance in previous roles.
  • Teaching & Student Support Skills – Ability to prepare schemes of work, deliver lessons, monitor progress, manage behaviour, and promote equality and diversity.
  • Core Competencies – Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to work to deadlines, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Professional Attributes & Flexibility – Commitment to safeguarding, continuous development, and College values; adaptable to varied hours and able to travel across locations.
