Lead Solution Architect (Cloud, Data & AI)

This is your opportunity to shape the core architecture behind Promon’s future platform, designing the systems, patterns and technical foundations that will enable smarter, more adaptive security across our products. You’ll help turn our long-term vision into strategy and hands-on execution, working at the center of an initiative that will define how Promon evolves in the years ahead.

In this role, you’ll lead the architectural direction of Promon’s new cloud platform, defining how our systems evolve and scale in the future. You’ll work hands-on to design, prototype and validate core components, collaborating closely with engineers, product teams and technical leaders. This position is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of strategy and execution, and wants to influence the technical foundation of a global security product.

• Define and lead the architectural direction for Promon’s next-generation cloud platform, establishing the technical foundations that guide how our systems evolve and scale.

• Design, prototype and validate core platform components, working hands-on to explore new technologies, solve complex distributed-system challenges, and ensure reliability, security and performance.

• Collaborate across teams to align architecture with product strategy, providing guidance, patterns and technical leadership that elevate engineering practices and support informed decision-making.

Deep Technical Expertise

• Strong background in cloud architecture, distributed systems and large-scale data pipelines, ideally with hands-on experience in GCP.

• Solid understanding of event streaming technologies (e.g., Pub/Sub, Kafka, Beam, Dataflow, Flink, Spark) and how to design systems that handle massive, continuous event flows.

• Practical skills in one or more programming languages (Python, Rust, Go, Java, TypeScript, etc.) and the willingness to build prototypes, validate ideas and dig into code when needed.

• Ability to design suitable APIs with an understanding of front-end web technologies like React.

Strong Architectural & Analytical Thinking

• Ability to design architectures that balance reliability, performance, cost, privacy and global scale.

• Skilled at navigating ambiguity and turning complex, undefined problem spaces into clear architectural direction.

• Strong modelling and communication skills, able to articulate concepts and trade-offs to engineers, product managers and system architects.

• Solid awareness of security, privacy and data governance considerations when designing systems that handle sensitive telemetry.

AI & Behavioral Insight Expertise

• Experience applying machine learning in production systems, including designing data flows, behavioral models and inference pipelines.

• Strong intuition for anomalies, behavioral patterns and the signals that distinguish normal activity from risk.

Leadership Through Influence & Ownership

• Collaborative mindset with the ability to guide decisions and align teams without direct authority.

• Clear, confident communication grounded in expertise rather than hierarchy.

• Operates effectively as a senior individual contributor - curious, proactive and comfortable exploring complex systems, identifying issues and driving experimentation.

While we have our main office in Oslo, Norway, we’re open to remote work for the right candidate. If you are not in Oslo, you are ideally located in Lithuania, Germany or the UK, but we are also open to other locations (as long as you are available to travel) If you’re a great fit, let’s talk!
