We're looking for a Lead Buyer to join our Group Procurement team based in Rushden.
Location: Rushden – hybrid working available, with 1 day per week required in the office
Hours: 37.5 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us

As a Lead Buyer, you'll be working within the Group Procurement team, supporting them in delivering value for money, maintaining procurement controls, and providing a high-quality service to Kier stakeholders.

What will you be responsible for?
As a Lead Buyer, you'll be working within the Group Procurement team, supporting them in delivering value for money, maintaining procurement controls, and providing a high-quality service to Kier stakeholders.
Your Day To Day Will Include
- Handling procurement ticket requests and generating purchase orders
- Managing or supporting tender processes and pricing activities
- Meeting savings targets and documenting cost efficiencies
- Supporting contract implementation and supplier relationship management
- Coaching and mentoring the wider team and acting as a point of escalation
This role of Lead Buyer is great for you if:
- You have strong procurement knowledge and experience in construction, highways, or utilities
- You're a confident communicator with excellent negotiation and organisational skills
- You're commercially aware and ideally working towards a CIPS qualification
- You're proactive, collaborative, and able to support and train internal stakeholders
