At ISOQAR, we draw on our experience, knowledge, and ambition to empower organisations to achieve their highest potential. Through a portfolio of progressive solutions, we work with customers to strengthen their business through ISO certification, ISO training and consultancy, all delivered by our in-house expertise.
Aligned with EA Code 28, this Lead Auditor role focuses on organisations within the construction and civil engineering sector. You’ll draw on your practical industry experience to audit clients across the built environment – including contractors, developers and utilities companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, conduct and lead third-party audits of management systems
- Assess compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
- Gather objective evidence and produce accurate, impartial audit reports
- Build and maintain professional relationships with clients
- Host opening and closing meetings to communicate findings clearly
- Stay up to date with technical and sector developments
- Complete auditor training and achieve Lead Auditor qualification (supported by ISOQAR)
Your hands-on experience in construction or engineering will help you understand how projects and sites operate day to day. You’ll use that knowledge to evaluate how organisations manage quality, safety and environmental performance across areas such as:
- Building construction – new builds, refurbishments, extensions, repairs and temporary works
- Civil engineering – roads, bridges, tunnels, railways, harbours and airfields
- Specialist trades – foundations, concrete, bricklaying, scaffolding, roofing and steel erection
- Building services – plumbing, HVAC, electrical and alarm systems, sprinklers and lifts
- Finishing trades – plastering, painting, tiling, glazing, insulation and carpentry
- Infrastructure and utilities – pipelines, sewerage, power distribution and irrigation
- Demolition and groundwork
What you’ll need to be successful
You’ll bring hands-on experience from construction or civil engineering and understand how sites and projects run day-to-day. Clear communication, good analytical skills and precise report writing are key, along with a professional and methodical approach.
You’ll also be comfortable with regional and national travel (including occasional overnight stays) and hold a full UK driving licence. Your integrity, technical knowledge and ability to deliver clear, high-quality audit reports will help you thrive in this role.
