It starts with our people, which is why we need a Lateral Partner Recruitment Assistant to join our team and perform all administrative tasks relevant to implementing the processes for lateral partner hiring. You will interact as appropriate with the Firm Leadership Team, Partners, Practice Group Leaders, Sector Leaders, Office Managing Partners, General Counsel’s office, the Finance Group, and other groups and members of the firm as needed. This is a fantastic opportunity to join our friendly and supportive team. The role will suit somebody enthusiastic, with excellent organisational skills looking for their first step on the recruitment career ladder, or someone with some pre-existing recruitment experience (in-house or agency) looking to make a move.


Working directly with and under the direction of the Associate Director of Lateral Partner Recruitment, you’ll be responsible for :


• the overall administrative organization of the firm’s lateral partner recruitment activities

o entering and continually monitoring and updating all details of lateral partner candidates into the viRecruit system, from original data entry through to the closing of partner candidacies

o keeping track of the status of the lateral partner candidates in the pipeline, which will include individual candidates, teams and any large scale growth opportunities that are in consideration

• coordinating the logistics and overseeing in-person and virtual interview schedules

o interacting individually with partner candidates, firm partners and other staff to arrange in-person, video and telephone meetings, across multiple time zones, to create appropriate and efficient meeting schedules for the purpose of evaluating candidates

o assisting with scheduling arranging travel and accommodation for partner candidates

o troubleshooting interview schedule changes

o processing reimbursements for travel and other expenses incurred by candidates and the Lateral Hiring Team

o gathering feedback from interviewers

o ensuring candidates have a positive experience throughout the recruitment process

• collating and tracking diversity monitoring statistics

• creating and tracking all lateral partner fee agreements, as directed by the Lateral Hiring Team, or by working directly with search firms

• assisting with the execution of conflicts of interest and other due diligence processes for lateral candidates

• generating correspondence relating to the recruiting process

o assisting with the preparation of materials in support of lateral partner candidates for consideration by the Board

• assisting the Lateral Hiring Team to implement the smooth integration process for new partner hires into the Firm

o assisting with the onboarding process

• performing other duties as required



Skills and experience required


• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail (prior knowledge of recruitment tools and ATS advantageous)

• Effective written and oral communication skills with senior colleagues of the Firm

• Ability to work effectively with department members, lawyers and other law firm professionals

• Ability to manage and adapt to changing and competing priorities

• Results orientated

• Strong sense of confidentiality - respects and maintains confidentiality of all candidate, internal, and personnel affairs

• Ability to professionally represent and promote the Firm
